Sweet Run #38 from East Hill

Well, we didn’t run far and we didn’t run long… but at least we ran.  This was officially the Hangover Recovery Run, for those that ran McGuire’s yesterday.  And it worked… at least for me.  I am fully recovered as I write this from today’s “On After” at Ozone’s Pizza Pub.

Special thanks to our “Hares”, Viva Banana, Just Ben and Scarface.  They laid an interesting “Trail”, (if not perfect).  When the “Hounds” were asked at “Circle” to comment on the run, all they could say was, “It was a beautiful day!”

We started at the playground on 15th and Lakeview and had our mid-run “Beer Stop” down by the water of Bayview Park.  The “Hares” thought we got lost since we lingered a little on trail, but it was just us enjoying this most glorious day in paradise, as we enjoyed the “Beer Break” overlooking Bayou Texar.  Last run we forgot the water at the “Beer Stop”, (say it ain’t so).  This time we remembered the water but forgot extra cups so anyone not running with their “Trusty East Hill Mug and Lanyard” did not have a “vessel” to drink from.  See, the “GM” always told us to carry our mugs with us “on trail”.

We had numerous “Hash Flashes” taking some great photos and I’m sure they’ll be posted here and there.  Check out our Facebook Page for more.  The “Circle” welcomed the “Virgins”, (Just Karen, Just Tracy, Just Darlene, Just Dawn, Just Dena and Just Joshua), with a customary “Down-Down”. 

We also had “Visiting Hashers” from near and far, folks who need a new “Hash Home”.  So we welcum “Motel 69″ formerly of Samurai Hash in Japan and Sweet Cum formerly of Blue Hare-On Hash (used to be) in P’Cola.  Of course we had to toast the “FBI”, Twisted Mother, the “FRB”, Bee Haven Buns and the “DFL”, Just Dena.

Then we called out the offenders for various crimes.  Just Tara for asking directions “On Trail”, Bee Haven for “Short Cutting”, Just Tim for leading the runners, and walkers the wrong way on numerous occastions with his erroneous “On On calls”, Mary Poppins for accusing “the GM” of not having his whistle, (that’ll teach ‘im), Night Deposit for “using Christian Names” during the “Hash”, Sweet Cum and Just Karen for making up a lame excuse to ride in the back of the “Beer Wagon” all the way “In”, Tailspinner for calling  Bee Haven Buns, “Just Walter”,  and Longshanks for showing up After The Run 2 times in a row, etc, etc, etc!!!

The “On After” was attended by many, but not all, and all were sworn to attend the next run on Sunday, March 28th.  We’ll meet at the Sanders Beach Community Center at 3PM.  See you there.  On On!!
