Well, Viva Banana and Longshanks did a G R E A T job Haring and the fact that so many folks braved cold temperatures to enjoy a Hare and Hounds Run, is proof that our Social Workout is catching on. Thank you Hares for all you did to make today’s trail challenging, scenic and enjoyable. Special thanks, too, to NOBS for performing flawlessly in her On Sec duties. Is it just me or does she seem perfect for a place in Mismanagement??!?
The Beer Meister provided copius quantities of the Golden Nectar, (although most thought it too cold to drink), along with some De- Liscious Oranges and bagels. Thanks to NOBS for baking a bringing fresh cookies for all to enjoy!! What a great group of folks to run and socialize with.
The Trail started from the parking lot below the Cross at Bayview Park and ran by the Community Center there before heading down 19th to Cervantes, where Eagles ran left and over the Bayou Texar Bridge into East Pensacola Hts and Turkeys crossed Cervantes and followed the water to and by Mira Flores Park where they rejoined the Eagle Trail and led those fleet of feet all the way back to the On In. The Hares led us on a Trail past the Oyster Barn before heading North and East near Hunan’s and down to the Railroad Tracks along Pensacola Bay. The Pack knew the trail was headed back to town via the 17th Ave Trestle, but had a bit of trouble sniffing the Hash from the railroad ties. Soon enough we were On again and headed North on 16th into the cold, cold wind. (Did you know it was colder here than in North Dakota today?) Thanks to those beautiful Turkey ladies, Just Tara, Just Catherine and Just Sheri, (and I may have missed one), for clearly marking the trail so the Eagles could make a speedy run of the last mile or so.
We had two Virgins on today’s run, Just Shawn, a friend of Just Tim’s, and I think a future Lifetime Member and a four legged friend of Hey Dude’s, Just Joey! The FRB was Just Tim. The FBI was Just Catherine, and the DFL was Just Jennifer.
The Circle was short and cold. Did I mention that some people were F R E E Z I N G? But, we were together in Circle long enough for two of our lovelies to petition for a name, Just Laura and Just Sheri. Best of luck in your names, Harriettes!!
The On After was held at the Hash Pub, Ozone’s, and most attended and carried the torch for Tail Spinner as he went off to work. (Poor Tail Spinner… everyone say, “Poor Tail Spinner!”). Special thanks to Hey Dude Wanna Raise for risking his life by picking up (and not paying for) the most valuable of cargo, the Club Tankards, and delivering them to us for today’s event.
Our next run will be Sunday, January 24th. We are planning a rustic On After around a fire with Chili and Beer. Until we meet and run again next time, On On!!
