Santa's Helper/Champagne Brunch Run 32

The Hares: Longshanks and Just Ben

Three Lovely Helpers
Just Ben Bogan and Jehan “Longshanks” Clark were the Hares of this fun and different Hare & Hounds Run. I say different because we normally run with Beer, but since this was a Champagne Brunch run, our beverage of choice was, duh, champagne. The run started from the old AmTrack Station on Heinberg St and quckly ran down to Bayfront and up through Aragon before confusing the pack and changing direction without an intersection. (Fear not, the Hares drank for that infraction).
After running north around the cemetary, the trail went south on Alcaniz and through Bartram Park and under the Fish House to the midway Mimosa stop out on the dock overlooking Pensacola Bay. It was a very nice venue for a glass of champagne and walkers and runners arrived together, which is always nice.
I’m not really sure where we went after that since I was half in the bag already, but I seem to recall running by Seville and then past the I-110 onramp. From there, we ran through the parking lot of the Grande Hotel and pretty much down Gregory St and back to the starting point. The walkers beat the runners home and several claimed they could have caught the Hares, but none actually did.

FBI, FRB & DFL

My Hands...
The FRB was Just Jason, the FBI was Just Tara and the DFL was Just Andrew. The circle was punctuated by two namings: Just Fred became “Beer Balls the Brewer” or B3 for short and Just Diane became “My Hands in Your Drawers”. I’m still laughing about that one! If you want to laugh, too, just ask her her name.
Our friends at McGuire’s hosted the Brunch and fed us for free! Thank you Jim Martin and t hanks too, to a great McGuire’s staff. I’d also like to thank today’s helpers: Just Chris for driving the Champagne Wagon, “NOBS” for being a great scribe and Onsec, our Hash Hostesses, “Bee T’em Off” and “My Hands in Your Drawers”, and of course the Hares, Just Ben and “Longshanks” A big thank you to our Hash Flash, “Bee T’em Off” and a special thanks also to Just Ben for driving me home safely.
Our next run, number 33 will be a Holiday Social and will begin at 2PM across 12th Ave from Ozone’s on December 27th. Until then, On On!!
