Run #69… Much Rejoicing!

East Hill reached a milestone yesterday… The 69th Running of the Club.  Wah Wah was the Hare and the group met at Lavalette Park off of Spanish Trail.  His name for this run was Anarchy and after hearing of his ambitious “4 beer-stop”, marathon plan, I was beginning to understand why.

The Hounds had to play a hand of Texas Hold Em to decide who would be lucky enough to serve as his co-Hare for the fun.  Luckily, Tail Spinner, a member of Mis-Management, and seasoned Hare, was the lucky fellow.

Early money had it that this was a 5-7 mile trail and we all should have been worried when Wah Wah and TS left the group in an automobile for Wah Wah to share his grand plan.

Alas, the Hares gained wisdom as the run progressed and the Trail ended after 2 beer-stops and 4 miles for the runners, with 3 for the walkers.  There is a rumor that the beer and water that was pre-positioned for stops 3 and 4 are still “out there somewhere” for those of you who enjoy a “treasure hunt”.

The circle was highlighted by the naming of Just Mary who by the power vested in our Religious Advisor became “Lick n Stick” and a guest appearance of 4 Second Rider to lead us in drinking and song for a bit.

The On After was held at Beef O’Brady’s on 9th and Creighton.

The next run will be Sunday, September 4, meeting at 5 PM.  Knight Rider and Just Kyle will be the Hares.  On On!
